There is something so playful about paper dolls that is evocative of all the good things of childhood – and I think this is what spun the idea of band paper dolls.
Music can be so encompassing, fandom so innocent, that there is something sweet (I hope!), in paying tribute to some of beloved figures in paper form.
Blondie was taken from the Parallel Lines album, the Specials were ‘expanded’ from a much more cropped picture, and Nick Cave was created as a composite image.
I really like the idea of representing artists throughout their careers and different guises too (David Bowie), and plan to do much much more (Kate Bush is next on the list) – but feel free to suggest a few, I love a challenge!
