Latest Etsy commission, this time for Abby in Cambridge! The idea was to capture a happy time for this gorgeous family, including nods to some more or less obvious likes and hobbies – from gardening to mermaids, history books and Pinot Grigio, there is definitely […]

Families are unique, each individual contributing their personality, likes and idiosyncrasies. Things can seem so significant at a given time – a beloved scooter collecting rubber bands, an obsession with Star Wars, a favourite cuddly toy, a special outfit – and yet can easily be forgotten about in a matter of years or months.
What I try to do with my family portrait is There is capture a moment in a family’s life – that snapshot that truly embodies everyone.
My walking families, which have become a bit of a signature style for me, were inspired by Going on a bear hunt, and I like to think that the families in mine are all going towards their future, purposely, with a confident stride in their step.
You will also find here family trees, coats of arms and more. I am adding to the styles regularly – ultimately, I work closely on each drawing to find the best representation for that family.

Tara and Ed’s wedding portrait
Tara asked me to create this portrait for her wedding – so I felt very privileged to get access to all their outfits before the big day, and got to see the bride before her groom!! The drawing was used as a cake topper, but […]

Meet the Peaconns! There’s outdoorsy and then there’s the great outdoors. One ounce of sunshine and this lovely lot can be found enjoying every drop of park gorgeousness. Not a sore sight either!

Family diorama
I’ve been a little obsessed with dioramas since I first discovered their official existence through the ever mind-boggling creative geyser that a good old Pinterest session can bring. What is it? It’s basically a 3D ish picture in a box. I’ve been meaning to […]

Chris’s family tree
Now the nice thing here, is that this is the counterpart of Nicki’s family tree that I posted earlier. The first tree was for Nicki’s family, and this one is for Chris’s family, her other half! Chris’s parents are keen gardeners, and his dad is […]

The Conn family tree
This was a Christmas present for Nicki’s parents, with their three kids, respective kids and grand kids. Cousette and David love a good cruise amongst other things, so I added these details to make this truly theirs… As ever, each person was drawn from normal […]

Fireboy
My 4 year old son doesn’t lack imagination (where does that come from… Oh) – and he lives his life being all sorts of different characters – Star wars, pirates, all the classics are there. Lately he’s demanded to wear full red outfits, and to […]

Shona’s family tree
A lovely tree for a smashing family… Shona and her team of super smart cookies! This tree is completely bespoke, from the clothes to words and bikes -exactly as specified by the family. Apparently, it’s a big hit with the kids ‘it’s sick!!’ More family […]

Wild things in colour!
The wild things colouring in piece took me a while – but I finally completed my version…

Wild things – Wilderness festival
last week we went to Wilderness festival – our first festival with the kids in 3 years, since Rudy was a tiny 4 months old baby (much easier to go round with a sling than with a toddler!). The beauty was spending 4 days in […]
