Ned’s Atomic Dustbin

Bands, Illustrations, The vaults, Yesterday's heroes

Another one from the vaults, I did like the band enough, but loved the pic more. Can’t find the original, but likely to have featured in what was THEN the best music mag on the planet, French monthly Les Inrockuptibles. It’s now shortened to Les Inrocks, released weekly, a little too enamoured with its own perceived cleverness, and music is now only one of their concerns, the other major one these days seeming to be porn. So it’s grown up, but I liked its intense adolescence better. I digress!

The dot on the cheek was a marker blip, and with no computer, let alone photoshop at the time, it had to stay. I kinda like it as a result.

Karuski is the nom de pencil for me, Katherine Mengardon - I am a fan of all things 1960s, CAKES, obscure indie pop bands, children illustrations, bad puns and cats. Any spare time goes towards baking mad cakes, drawing families and catified musicians. Find me here too:
